You are looking at the 80" X 115" CLEEN-CUT Flatbed die cutter, it also comes in 60" X 90" and 105" X 144". You will find that the CLEEN-CUT Flatbed die cutter is one of the most versatile and user-friendly machines you could put in your shop. The quality of engineering and the attention to detail make this machine not only easy to install and operate but even easier to maintain. The bonded urethane-cutting roll allows you to cut any type rule and a seemingly endless range of products. The CLEEN-CUT Flatbed die cutter also meets all OSHA requirements for guarding. (See OSHA letter) We feel that this gives the CLEEN-CUT Flatbed die cutter a head start when it comes to safety issues.

Each of us that are involved in manufacturing realize the importance of proper machine guarding. We also know that what was done in the past is no longer adequate. Due to changes in our culture as a whole, we now must go to extraordinary lengths to meet OSHA’s requirements.

Depicted in the picture are two such examples. First the lip guard has been extended to 12”. This means that the distance from the guard to the “Nip-point” is greater than the length of a normal forearm. You can’t reach the “Nip-point” while standing up. Second you will see the yellow ring, this is the location of our new “Safety light curtain”. This is located slightly above the work area and below the top of the guard. This placement reduces the chance of tripping it by accident but makes it almost impossible to get your hand under the guard without tripping the curtain and stopping the machine. (See OSHA Letter)

First the orange control box is the Manual-Automatic switch. When the Roller Press is in Manual Mode and you push the start button the die will travel from the table it is on through the cutting section to the table on the other side and stop. You will have to push the start button on that table to get it back to the other side.

Second is the Automatic Mode. When you put the Roller Press in Automatic Mode and push the start button the die continues to go back and forth between the tables stopping on each table for what ever you have set the timer for.

Next is the “Impression Hand Wheel”. The wheel sets the amount of cutting pressure you want. If you turn the hand wheel counter clockwise you increase the cutting pressure. If you turn it clock wise you decrease the cutting pressure. One revolution of the hand wheel moves the roll .006”. This allows you by using half and quarter turns to control your cutting pressure to get your work done accurately.

You will see a scale. This tells you in inches approximately where your cutting roll is. Then by using a couple of test sheets you can refine the pressure to get the cut you are looking for. Because you are cutting against a urethane cutting roll it takes only a couple minutes to set up the die cutter. This makes short orders and hard to cut items easy to run.

Pictured here is one of the four operator control stations located on the CLEEN-CUT Flatbed die cutter. They consist of a positive lock stop & start buttons. First are the positive lock stop buttons, if any one of the four is depressed the die cutter will not run until it is reset by the operator. Next is the green start button. A metal shield keeps it from being tripped by mistake. The third is the time delay. It controls the amount of time that the die will remain stopped on each side. This time can be set at each workstation. This allows you to control the time it takes for your operator to perform their work.

As you view the pictures you can see numerous warning decals, these decals adequately instruct your operators as to potential hazards around the Flatbed die cutter. These decals coupled with the guarding issues we have already covered allow you to place this machine in your shop knowing that it will prove to be one of the safest machines you have. If you have-not done so please take time to read the OSHA letter.
